LEAF COLLECTION WILL BEGIN IN THE BOROUGH ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 4TH THROUGH FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2021

Mount Penn Borough is looking for a part time leaf collector to work with our street crew.  Leaf collection is between October 4, 2021 and December 3, 2021 any one interested may send their resume to mtpennborough@comcast.net or stop in at borough hall.

NOTE FOR RESIDENTS:  Yard waste pick up for residents is the first and third Monday of the month from April through November. All yard waste must be placed in brown paper biodegradable bags manufactured for the purpose of yard waste or bundled in 4 foot or smaller bundles and tied with string. Branches can be no larger than 6 inches in diameter. There is a limit of (10) bundles of yard waste per pick up. They do not collect dirt and stone for yard waste. Borough hall has yard bags available for purchase at 50 cents a piece or five bags for $2.00. Residents can also purchase bags through stores such as Lowes and Home Depot.

MOUNT PENN BOROUGH COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM AREA RESIDENTS INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEES:

PLANNING COMMISSION COMMITTEE.  PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS ARE HELD THE THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS.   MEMBERS WILL SERVE A FOUR YEAR TERM.

 ZONING HEARING BOARD.  ZONING HEARING BOARD MEETINGS ARE HELD ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS.  MEMBERS SERVE A THREE YEAR TERM.

MOUNT PENN BOROUGH MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY BOARD.  MEETINGS ARE HELD ON THE SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH.  MEMBERS SERVE A FIVE YEAR TERM.

Lock Your Vehicle Doors

Police Chief Serafin is requesting that everyone lock their vehicle doors. Vehicles with unlocked doors are being invaded. Residents should be aware of their surroundings.  Police Chief Serafin is urging anyone noticing suspicious activity to notify the police directly, rather than reacting to social media.  If you see anyone or anything that appears skeptical or dubious, please contact the non-emergency number of CBRPD 610.655.4911 and request a Central Berks Police Officer.
